A car which drugs like a bullet(8 sec for a quarter mile), hmm definitely yes, who doesn’t like it. If you have lucky to get it, new Cobra is ready to burn the road. The 2016 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet is the latest drag model from Ford since last one three year ago. The design of the model has been derived from the 2015 model street-going Mustang, but it is the only model of Mustang, which is going to have a solid-axle suspension at the back for the model year 2016.
Ford Mustang models have conquered drag-strips racing all over the world since the 1960’s. The Ford Mustang Cobra Jet started its captivating ways during its 1968 year when the model won the USA Pomona NHRA Winternationals. Nowadays, the Ford Cobra Jet has been a standard platform finisher at different competitions, such as NMCA, NHRA, IHRA, and NMRA. As before, Ford is going to construct only 50 units of the 2016 Cobra Jet.
2016 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Exterior
Most of the external prompts of the new Mustang Cobra Jet 2016 will be similar to those of its street-going counterpart. However, it differs from its street-going sibling by featuring hood pins in the front and slim tires and by missing fog lights.
Around back, some of the new external additions include a parachute, flared fenders and Hoosier tires. Except these, all rear elements are similar to those of the street-going edition. The rear of the new vehicle also comes outfitted with a wheelie bar as an optional element, and it will be offered in two colors, such as Oxford White and Deep Impact Blue. The graphics package will also be offered as an option with an additional cost.

The new 2016 Mustang Cobra Jet comes equipped with much different for performance tuned parts, like drag competition-specific coil-over springs and shocks, and frivolous racing brakes(lights and heat resistant).
2016 Mustang Cobra Jet Interior
Similar to the exterior, most of the interior elements, such as the dashboard, center console and door panels of the all-new 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang are identical to those of the street-going version. However, it differs from its road-going colleague by its cockpit, which is now being equipped with racing features, as well as an NHRA-licensed 8.50-second turn cage. The cabin of the new sports sedan also comes equipped with five-stage harness sports seats, a race-spec shifter and some additional gauges mounted on the dashboard. It also comes equipped with the Aeromotive fuel arrangement with trunk-installed fuel cubicle, and a race-prepped mechanical gearbox.
2016 Cobra Jet Engine
Although Ford has not yet confirmed the engine options of its 2016 Super Cobra Jet, it is expected that it will be powered by a V8 powertrain with the displacement of 5.0 liters. This power unit comes equipped with a Whipple supercharger that makes the engine provide the new sports sedan with adequate power and torque. Although the powertrain figures of this engine are not yet revealed by the automaker, the engine will be able to produce the minimum power of 1000 horsepower. This makes the new Mustang Cobra 2016 to attain the 1/4 of a mile in 8 seconds, which is quicker than the speed achieved by the 2016 model Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat that attained the same speed in 11.2 seconds.

The engine will be mated to a three-velocity GM Turbo based automatic transmission system to send power to the wheels.
Base price and the date of release
The 2016 Mustang Cobra Jet is expected to hit the Ford showrooms for sale during early 2016 with the starting price of $ 99,990 without optional packages.
